South Central Pennsylvania is home to the Gettysburg Battlefield National Military Park and Museum, the Gettysburg Diorama, General Lee's Headquarters, the Eisenhower National Historic Site, and the Hall of Presidents and First Ladies. For outdoor lovers, the area has nationally recognized scenic byways, the highest peak in the state, the largest lake within state boundaries, and the unique ridges and valleys that form the center of the state. Home to Pennsylvania's beautiful Laurel Highlands, the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail affords fabulous views along 70 miles of the Laurel Ridge from Ohiopyle to the Johnstown area. For bicyclists, the Ghost Town National Recreation Trail is waiting.
South Central PA is also one of the most active agricultural areas of the northeastern U.S. and many farmer's markets operate in the villages and towns you'll see along the way.
