The live horse racing season runs from March through December on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. A small chestnut colt born in Chester, PA named “Smarty Jones” brought worldwide attention to Parx Racing when he won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness in 2004. The 2013 live racing season is from January to December on Saturday through Tuesday. Located at 2999 Street Road, Bensalem, only a 20-minute drive from Center City Philadelphia.
