Harrisburg Happy: Central PA's Capital Wine Country
The region of Central Pennsylvania around and to the east of its capital city may be world-famous for its chocolate and endless assortment of candy, but another product also gives this area its impeccable reputation for success: wine. The Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country contains 15 family-owned, award-winning wineries surrounded by world-class attractions, restaurants, and hotels. Views of green hills, the Susquehanna River Valley, and grass-covered expanses, as well as their proximity to the state capitol, Hersheypark, and the National Civil War Museum make these wineries unforgettable Pennsylvania attractions.
Nearby, visitors to the Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country can find Hersheypark, a world-class amusement park, Hershey Chocolate Factory, and the expanse of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, the home of the Amish. The list of attractions doesn't end there, but this is a region that holds a massive amount of history and things to do that take us soaring high on rollercoasters and then returns us far back to our roots in the agricultural center of Pennsylvania. Visitors also find themselves close to the nightlife of Harrisburg's restaurants and bars on 2nd Street.
Starting October 15th, every Saturday and Sunday until October 30th is the Hershey Harrisburg Wine Country's Cornucopia Wine Quest event. Guests have the opportunity to travel to 12 wineries across three weekends for the ultimate fall wine festival. Handcrafted wines are sampled, unique experiences at each winery is provided, and a memorable souvenir gifted.
