Get Your Giddy Up!

The thunder of the hooves drowns out all but the pleading, praying, screaming and cheering of the gathered masses.  You can watch the majestic, muscular ponies stampede around the oval at one of Pennsylvania’s six state-of-the-art racing and gaming complexes. The sport of Thoroughbred racing is like no other. Horse racing has a rhythm, intensity and language like no other sport.  It is about family, history, tradition, pageantry and beauty.  It’s fun!

And excitement is building for California Chrome who has one the first two jewels of the Triple Crown. Join the excitement and head to Harrah's Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack on June 7, 2014 for the Belmont stakes. Will California Chrome be a Triple Crown winner?

While you are waiting for the big race, the best place to look at the horses is the paddock. The paddock is where the horses get saddled prior to the race and are walked around a ring. This is where you can observe how the horses look and decide if you are wagering a bet. There are multiple ways to select a horse: you can be serious and use the racing forum or you can have fun among your friends and family and pick based on the color of the silks or the horse.

Unique and affordable entertainment, win or lose, it is a great time for all.  Plan a trip to Harrah's or one of Pennsylvania’s six horse racing tracks this summer and book your stay at a nearby Bed and Breakfast.
