Cruise the Susquehanna

The majestic Susquehanna River flows through three states including Pennsylvania and is one of the oldest existing rivers in the world. At 464 miles long, it is the longest river in the continental United States without commercial boat traffic.  The meaning of the name is unknown, but local legend has it that the name comes from an Indian phrase meaning “mile wide, foot deep.”

One of the best ways to appreciate the beauty of the river is to take a cruise on one of Pennsylvania’s two authentic paddle wheels – the Hiawatha and the Pride of the Susquehanna

Located in Williamsport, the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat is the Queen of the Susquehanna. Find out what a Boom Rat is and hear about how the Susquehanna River helped Williamsport become the richest city in America during the height of the Lumber Era.  Public, one-hour fully narrated, cruises are available from June 1st thru Labor Day every day except Monday (open Labor Day).
