Fun, Food and Tomatoes!
The 32nd Annual Pittston Tomato Festival will be held in downtown Pittston Thursday, August 20 through Sunday, August 23, 2015. Over 50,000 people will attend the four-day event that has been touted as one of the best festivals in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Delicious food, a variety of live entertainment, tomato fights, a parade, 5K run, games, rides, arts and crafts, bingo and of course home-grown Pittston Tomatoes keep bringing an enthusiastic crowd to the festival each year. Returning this year is “Sauce Wars,” a marinara sauce taste competition that will be bigger and better than ever.
Don’t miss the Tomato Fights, which will be held on Saturday, August 22 at 1:30pm. In the parking lot of Cooper’s on the Waterfront Restaurant, 304 Kennedy Boulevard, Pittston. The entry fee is $8, which includes protective eye goggles. All proceeds will benefit local charities.
The festival’s opening ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 20 at 5:00pm followed by live entertainment by Windfall, and other bands to be announced. Visit the website for a complete list of activities and entertainment schedule.
