Chocolate Covered February in Hershey
It’s up for debate whether February is a month for celebrating Love proper or a month for celebrating our collective love for all things chocolate. Either way, this February there’s much of both to celebrate in the city of Hershey, The Sweetest Place On Earth.
Whether as a romantic escape or a friends’ getaway weekend, you can sample any number of Hershey’s death-by-chocolate events and attractions to sate your cravings for this decadent, endorphin-stimulating treat. Chocolate-infused meal options include the five-course Chocolate Dinner Extraordinaire at the Hotel Hershey, a three-course cocoa-dusted menu at Devon Seafood + Steak, and special, limited-time chocolate menu items at Houlihan’s. The Hotel Hershey is also offering a Chocolate Dessert Buffet for those who would rather skip dinner—even a chocolate-inspired one—and go straight for dessert. Between meals, you can experience new incarnations of chocolate goodness at the Chocolate Tea, featuring finger sandwiches and cold and hot teas—and of course, a selection of mouth-watering chocolate desserts.
For those who prefer to learn about rather than simply savor chocolate, a number of classes and demonstrations combine the best of both, including a chocolate martini mixology class, a wine and chocolate pairing class, several free chef demonstrations available at the Hershey Hotel, and a selection of chocolate lab classes offered at The Hershey Story.
And when you’d rather appreciate the goodness of chocolate via another one of your senses, there’s plenty to see in Hershey in the month of February as well, including the Chocolate-Covered February Parade, the unveiling of the 4th annual chocolate sculpture, a trip to ZooAmerica (where you can witness wild animals enjoying a special winter treat). You can also bask in the ever-present aura of chocolate at venues like the Hershey Theatre (where one can see a production of Romeo and Juliet put on by the National Ballet Theatre of Odessa) and the Giant Center (where one can watch the Hershey Bears play against Lehigh Valley Phantoms in chocolate-themed jerseys). Please take note that tickets or reservations are necessary for most events, so be sure to plan ahead and buy tickets ahead of time at the Hershey website if you would like to partake in any of these delectable events.
