33rd Annual Covered Bridge & Arts Festival
Most over a century old, over 20 covered bridges are located throughout Columbia and Montour counties located in central Pennsylvania. Columbia County is home to the states third largest concentration of covered bridges. Visitors from around the world come to admire the antique craftsmanship used to construct these spans. No two covered bridges are alike.
The 33rd Annual Covered Bridge & Arts Festival is dedicated to the preservation of these bridges and creating opportunities for people to appreciate them. This year’s festival will be held on October 2-5, 2014 at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA. Guided bus tours depart Knoebels on October 4 at 11:30 am and October 5 at 1:00 pm for a two-hour scenic tour of several covered bridges including the Twin Covered Bridges, one of only two remaining twin covered bridges in the country. The East and West Paden Bridges are the County’s prized covered bridges. Advance reservations are required for the guided bus tour and costs $10 per person. Make your reservation by calling 570-284-4455.
In addition to covered bridges, enjoy over 350 craft vendor wares from handmade and traditional crafts to turned and carved wood to glass prints, jewelry and photography, and so much more.
