New Year's Eve - First Night!
It will soon be time to ring in the New Year and Pennsylvania offers family friendly ways to do just that. "First Night" Celebrations are offered all around the Keystone state.
If you are going to be in the north central area of the state, check out First Night in State College. There will be lots of ice scultures, musical entertainment, and firewoks at midnight. You can even participate in The Grand Procession! Stay at one of the many B&Bs in the State College area to extend your celebration into 2013!
FIrst Night Scranton, titled "Electric City Renaisance", will be a fun way to ring out the old and ring in the new! Music, magic, face painting, and comedy will all be part of the celebration in Scranton, PA
If you will in the far western part of PA, you have to go to Pittsburgh's FIrat Night Celebration. There is a truely unique performance called "Steel Town Fire" where the entertainers perform poi-spinning, dance through flaming hula hoops, and juggle flaming objects. This act will really warm up the night! If you are in Pittsburgh for New Year's Eve, stay at one of the fine B&Bs in the city!
New York city has the ball drop - in the south central region of Pennsylvania, Carlisle celebrates First Night while honoring its notoriety for collector car events with a "Car Drop" and fireworks at midnight. First Night Carlisle includes carriage rides, musical entertainment, and even dancing dogs, so appropriately called, "Steppin Woofs". Stay at one of the B&Bs in Carlsie and you may receive your First Night admission with your stay.
In the eastern region of PA, Newtown in Bucks County will celebrate First Night and help a worthy cause at the same time. Proceeds from sales of admission buttons will benefit the Bucks County Food Bank. Stay at a wonderful Bucks County B&B, enjoy the FIrst Night entertainment, and help put food on the table of folks in need - you can start 2013 will a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart!
